Our Obstetric Gynaecologists offer diagnoses of conditions, advice about condition management and treatment.
Patients can access a range of gynaecological appointments for:
- General Gynaecology
- Uro-gynaecology/ Pelvic Organ Prolapse
- Adolescent Gynaecology
- Endoscopic Surgery
- Colposcopy
- Urgent referrals for Gynaecological Cancers
- Advanced Endoscopic Surgery
How can you access this service?
A referral from your general practitioner is required to access the Obstetric Gynaecology clinic.
In some instances, patients may be admitted to the hospital wards via the Emergency Department or from our specialist clinics.

To obtain a routine appointment for your patient a referral must be faxed to Grampians Health Ballarat.

Urgent cases must be discussed with the Gynaecology Registrar on-call on (03) 5320 4000.
If you are a referring doctor/GP then please call to obtain appropriate prioritisation. Please follow this call by faxing an urgent referral letter to FAX 03 5320 4822.
Please either order or attach relevant ultrasound or blood test results with the referral.
Gynaecology services are conducted on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from the consulting suites at 3 West at the Base Hospital.
