The $5 entry fee, and a portion of stallholder fees, will be donated to the Cancer Wellness Centre. The Paella Guy will be serving paella and churros, and drinks will also be available. 

Reworn founders Jacqui Jarvis and Rochelle Tournier said they are excited to support the Cancer Wellness Centre for a second year. 

“The Cancer Wellness Centre receives no government funding and relies on fundraising to keep programs going. They provide such an important service, giving emotional support and providing education to cancer patients in our community, and we want to help keep these programs running,” Ms Jarvis said. 

“Last year, we were able to donate $3,000 from proceeds of our market at the Mining to the Wellness Centre.” 

Ms Tournier is optimistic that they will be able to beat the previous year’s target this time. 

“The last year has been really successful for Reworn. We outgrew our previous venue and moved into the larger St Patrick’s Hall. This has allowed us to double the number of stall holders per month. On average we host around 30 stalls a month, so we have had over 275 stall holders for the year,” Ms Tournier said. “From feedback we have received, it is evident that we are changing the way people shop by giving people an opportunity to reuse their unwanted clothing.” 

Simone Noelker, Manager of the Cancer Wellness Centre, said it was a great opportunity to find a sustainable Christmas outfit while supporting the Wellness Centre. 

“Our partnership with Reworn Market is a win-win for everyone. Shoppers have a great opportunity to revamp their festive wardrobe while supporting both the Cancer Wellness Centre and environmental sustainability.” 

“Community fundraisers like Jacqui and Rochelle from Reworn Market are so important to us at the Cancer Wellness Centre. Ongoing community support provides us with the security to continue to provide our important services. The Wellness Centre has become an important part of our many of our patient’s cancer treatment, providing not only free education and wellness programs, but also invaluable support from people going through similar experiences and from our wonderful volunteers.” 

The Cancer Wellness Centre is located on the ground floor of Ballarat Regional Integrated Cancer Centre (BRICC) and is open Monday to Thursday. All services are free of charge and all cancer patients and their families, regardless of where they are having treatment, are welcome to attend.
