New Early Parenting Centre to deliver much needed support closer to home
Construction of a new Early Parenting Centre to assist parents with children aged 0-4 in the areas of sleep and settling, child behaviour, and parent and child health wellbeing is underway.
Minster for Health Mary-Anne Thomas today inspected the site at Fawcett Road, Lucas which will include 10 residential units and four day stay units, providing both day-stay programs and longer residential stay programs to improve the health, wellbeing and developmental outcomes for children.
Grampians Health, in partnership with the Queen Elizabeth Centre, will help assist 5000 extra families each year through the new centre.
Grampians Health CEO Dale Fraser said the new Early Parenting Centre would greatly assist families in the Ballarat and surrounding regions as they would no longer need to travel, as support would now be available closer to home.
The new centre has been carefully designed to create an environment where families can feel safe, comfortable and at home.
Delivered by local builders A W Nicholson, construction is expected to be completed in late 2023.
