The clinic will be at Wendouree Centre of Performing Arts (WCPA) from Monday 18 May to Friday 22 May, 9 am to 5 pm, and will provide voluntary testing for all local school staff who are asymptomatic (not showing symptoms) of COVID-19.

Ballarat Health Services CEO Dale Fraser encourages all school staff to be tested at the WCPA clinic.

“Our community stepped-up during the recent testing blitz, and now we’re looking to our teachers and school staff to get tested for COVID-19 before students return to work on-site,” Mr Fraser said.

“School staff members who are not showing symptoms of COVID-19 can be tested at Wendouree Centre of Performing Arts without an appointment.” Mr Fraser reminded the community that those who are not displaying symptoms (asymptomatic) when tested do not have to stay at home while they’re waiting for their results, unless they develop symptoms.

Those who are seeking a test because they do have symptoms must self-isolate until:

• they have had their test; and
• continue to stay at home until they receive their test result.
• If they test positive, they will be advised what they need to do next.

“The community must follow the Victorian Government’s restrictions, use common sense and maintain social distance to help prevent the spread of COVID-19,” Mr Fraser said. “Anyone displaying even the mildest of symptoms should make an appointment to be tested at UFS Lucas clinic.”

All community members who are displaying even the mildest of COVID-19 symptoms should make an appointment for testing at UFS Lucas on 03 4311 1571.

The Wendouree Centre of Performing Arts clinic is part of the new Victorian School Staff Coronavirus (COVID-19) Testing Scheme. Local school staff members who are asymptomatic are able to be tested free of charge and do not need to make an appointment for the clinic.
